The play details the struggles of life for two young boys left in the care of their grandmother and aunt in 1940's Yonkers. Through wonderful comedy and heart touching pathos, Simon leads us on a nine month journey of the boys' lives. Showtime is 6:30 PM and cost is $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for seniors and students. Slater Week in Review and Look Ahead 10/26/15
Hello Slater Nation!
Last week, Our Slater's competed at high levels and made some lifetime memories. I am so proud of our student - athletes, coaches and the entire Fair Haven Community! It is such a pleasure to work with, and see all the great things going on at Slater Nation! It was and is such a wonderful fall season! Here are some highlights for the week! GO SLATERS!
MVL Cross Country Meet
Last Tuesday, 10/20/15, our Slater Cross Country team traveled to Bellows Falls High School to compete in the Marble Valley League Cross Country meet! Both girls and boys teams did very well, setting personal running records for the event! THe boys team finished 5th, while the girls team finished 4th! Awesome job slater runners and Coach Dave Burrows!
Halle Coloutti had a personal best as well, but her best helped her to finish first, and capture the girls individual title, and win the MVL league title. Great work Halle!
Varsity Boys Soccer
The Varsity Boys soccer team had an incredible week. The boys first finished the regular season at a 10-4-1 record and then entered the playoffs as the 8th seed in Division 2. This was good enough for a first round home play-off game vs. Hartford High School. During the game, the boys worked hard to go to overtime to defeat the Hurricanes, 2-1 in double overtime. The boys then traveled to Woodstock, where they fought very hard, but came up short to Woodstock High school in a highly competitive game. The boys had an excellent season, and we at Slater Nation salute you!
We are thankful for the hard work that the boys put in, behind coach Kyle Ruby! Thanks gents!
MVL SOCCER COACH OF THE YEAR!
Congrats to Coach Kyle Ruby for being selected as the Marble Valley League Coach of the year!
Coach Ruby has been the strong, supportive and skilled leader for the Slater Boys Soccer program, always exhibiting honor, pride, respect and leadership, as well as teaching that to the students and the young men on the team! Well Deserved, Coach Ruby! We at Slater Nation Are Very Proud of you!
