Congrats to the 19 students-athletes and 5 staff members who participated in the Spartan Race at Fenway Park this weekend!  You represented Slater Nation to the highest level!  Great Job!

CASTLETON STATE COLLEGE
ADMISSIONS DECISION DAYS: Will be held on their campus on Wednesday 12/3 and Friday 12/5.
Students should pre-register through the CSC Admissions Office by calling 800-639-8521 and submit their application through the Common Application by the 1st of the month in which they plan to participate. 
FHU Guidance Office deadline for your Senior Autobiography and transcript request forms are Monday – 11/17 for the December Decision Days.  See your school counselor for questions.  

PLAN TEST:  The PLAN test for ALL sophomores – will be given on THURSDAY – December 4.  This will be held in the gym, and other designated areas throughout the school.

HUGE GROUP PICTURE:
We are having a HUGE group picture – and we want EVERYONE to be in it!
We want everyone to meet in the gym on THURSDAY – November 20 @ 8:10 a.m.!
Also, we would like everyone to wear BLUE & WHITE!  Spread the word!

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK:
November 17 – 21 is INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK,  and it is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.  We have the opportunity Tuesday – 11/18 to speak with students from the Netherlands and Spain, as well as our own Slater who spent an exchange year in Chile.  
Look for these individuals during lunch to ask questions about their experience, as well as more information if you would like to participate in your own foreign exchange experience.

TURKEY TROT – November 22, 2014:  NOTE: The TURKEY TROT is sneaking up on us
The event will be held Saturday NOVEMBER 22 at 10 a.m. – here at FHUHS!!!!
Registration will start at 9 a.m..   Student rate is now $15.  There will be a cash prize awarded to the class that has the most students sign up and walk / run.   JUNIORS are ahead at this point!

REGISTRATION forms can be found outside of Ms. Shaw’s room (212), or from the Office, and have been placed in every mailbox downstairsDrop completed forms off in Room 212 – or in the Office (with cash / check made out to: The Class of 2016).  Kids under 5 are FREE! 
Please remember to bring canned goods when you register at the $15 adult rate.
There is a collection box in Ms. Shaw’s room.  THANK YOU for your support.

WINTER SPORTS SEASON – PRACTICES AND TRYOUTS:

The winter sports season has arrived on Monday – NOVEMBER 17, 2014.  I am excited to be involved with such a great community of student athletes, teachers and staff!  Pierre Cotton, Jr. – Activities / Athletic Director / 802-265-2047

JV Girls Basketball TRY-OUTS will start on Monday at 3:15 and end at 4:45 p.m.
JV Boys Basketball TRY-OUTS will start on Monday at 4:45 and end at 6:15 p.m.

VARSITY Girls Basketball TRY-OUTS will start on Monday at 6:15 and end at 7:45 p.m.
VARSITY Boys Basketball TRY-OUTS will start on Monday at 7:45 and end at 9:15 p.m.
(VARSITY Girls & Boys will rotate daily their schedule for TRY-OUTS)

WRESTLING will begin Monday at 3:15 p.m. in the Cafeteria.
INDOOR TRACK will begin Monday with a meeting of Coach Smith and Burrows.
CHEERLEADING will meet Monday with their new Advisor.
